About Us
The Women’s Council of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (WC of NAREB®) is an affiliate of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, Inc. (NAREB®), which includes membership from multiple disciplines in the real estate industry. America’s oldest minority professional trade organization, NAREB was founded in order to promote "Democracy in Housing". The genesis of the Women’s Council of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers was born over fifty years ago. The vision and determination of a few women made the WC of NAREB® a reality; in 1971, at the NAREB Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, the Council was formed and organized. The Women’s Council represents the largest of NAREB’s eight affiliate organizations. Today, women comprise 53 percent of the National Association of Real Estate Broker’s membership with women participating in all divisions and aspects of the organization. There are currently twenty-four WC of NAREB® chapters nationally. The Jacksonville chapter, Women's Council of the First Coast, was chartered on July 24th, 2021 at the 74th NAREB National Convention.
Realtist Defined
What is a Realtist? A Realtist is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, an organization that was founded because minorities could not become Realtors. NAREB® brings together minority real estate professionals, including real estate agents, appraisers, developers, mortgage brokers, closing agents, and loan officers.
